FAQ

Probably not. All the "paper"work will be completed on our online portal before you are scheduled. If you have any notes or advanced organizers to help the therapist understand how depression is impacting your life, feel free to bring those and share. Otherwise, just come as you are!
Because we don't get any external funding, we can't offer a sliding scale. If you enroll in the Spravato® clinic, the pharmeceutical company does offer a discount plan that can greatly reduce your out of pocket costs. Other medications used for depression, particularly newer brand name products may also have discount programs. Ask Gilah Weissman, APRN or Shannon, our Care Coordinator, about this. We have limited payment plans available for copays. We cannot finance high deductible plans.
If you are fully engaged with the program, and we hope you will be, you'll receive integrative psychotherapy using Acceptance and Committment Therapy (ACT), cutting edge medication management, and specific recommendations and options for lifestyle enhancements that have been found in the research to reduce and prevent depressive episodes. It will be a journey but by bringing together all three facets of treatment into one program, The Depression Clinic of Kansas is intended to get you there sooner and more efficiently than could any one approach alone.
Adults 18 to 62 who fit within our scope of practice as determined at intake are eligible to be seen at The Depression Clinic of Kansas. Teens age 14 to 17 may also be seen and have been for many years through our parent organization, Family Psychological Services. While teens are also eligible for age appropriate medication management with Gilah Weissman, APRN, they are not yet eligible for the Spravato® clinic, pending further research.
We take most Blue Cross plans, most United Healthcare Plans, and most Aetna Plans. We no longer take new clients for Cigna. We do not accept any form of Medicare or Humana. We only accept KanCare (Medicaid) for children and teens. We do not accept any EAPs or HMO plans. We do take HSA and FSA cards.
